Acapella all the way! In early 2010, I sang this shabd acapella during a meditation at the NorCal Women's Camp. One of the women recorded it on her cell phone. I'm grateful I wasn't aware that she was recording it because I was able to sing it without any awareness other than the moment. The recording was beautiful and haunting. I knew then that -- possibly -- I could record this particular version of Dhan Dhan Raam Daas Gur that I love so much. Thus was born the album Sahej. Throughout our recording, I was prayerful that we could produce this acapella version. I didn't know if it was possible because the shabd is so difficult to sing and acapella, well, can't make any mistakes there. I am thrilled that we were able to pull it off. Biggest gratitude to Jon, Liv Singh and Gurprakash - and the NorCal Women's Camp - for helping to make it happen.
