about

Yogi Bhajan requested that "A Master's Request" be written to celebrate his life, not mourn his death. When the new song was played for him in 1999, his words were, "It's perfect, don't change a thing." It is with humility and immense gratitude to the life and legacy of Yogi Bhajan that we present this song and the accompanying soothing mantras.

Track Name: A Master's Request
Who was this man called Yogi Bhajan.
Who came into our lives from ‘cross the sea?
A Father, a Teacher, a Master,
Servant for all humanity.

He came from the East just to teach us,
There is one God who dwells in all.
Happiness begins with commitment,
Fulfillment from answering the call.

He said, don’t cry for me Children of Sikh Dharma.
My love for you will live eternally.
Keep walking with your grace and strength and courage.
Chant the name and set your spirit free.
Chant the name and serve humanity.

In sandals in the snow drifts of Toronto,
His mission began so humbly.
Touching the hearts of the hopeless,
He helped them to regain their dignity.

Through every trial he kept on winning,
To show us that we could do it too.
With kindness, compassion, with laughter,
He said royal courage will see us through.

Don’t cry for me Children of Sikh Dharma.
My love for you will live eternally.
Keep smiling with your grace and strength and courage.
Chant the Name and set your spirit free.
Chant the Name and serve humanity.

He sculpted every being with precision,
No matter what their status or their state.
Poking, provoking, confronting.
His only purpose to elevate.

He gave us our home as a temple.
Our marriage as a path to the One.
Our wealth as a way to serve our neighbor.
Our future through our daughters and our sons.

Don’t cry for me Children of Sikh Dharma.
My love for you will live eternally.
Keep singing with your grace and strength and courage.
Chant the Name and set your spirit free.
Chant the Name and serve humanity.

Don’t cry for me, you are Sikh Dharma.
Let your love live eternally.
Keep walking with your grace and strength and courage.
Chant the Name and set your spirit free.
Chant the Name and serve humanity.
960 million we will be.

Great Truth, Great beyond Death. Great beyond Death,
Great Beyond Death,
Truth is His Name. Deathless Image of God.
Great Beyond Words is this Wisdom.

This mantra captures the frequency of the Aquarian Age as we cross the threshold into it. The mantra helps us to establish ourselves outside the change of time as deathless beings. We are timeless. Everything we do is from the timeless space of the soul.
Track Name: Guru Guru Wahe Guru
Guru Guru Wahe Guru
(Guru Mantra of Guru Ram Das)

Guroo guroo wha-hay guroo guroo ram das guroo

Translation: Wise, wise is the one who serves Infinity.

This is a mantra of humility, relaxation, self-healing, and emotional relief. It calls on the spirit of humility and grace of the realm of Guru Ram Das, with its spiritual guiding light and protective grace. It reconnects the experience of infinity to the finite, and therefore rescues you in the midst of trial and danger.
The first part, Guroo Guroo Wha-hay Guroo, is a nirgun mantra (nirgun means without any qualities) – one that vibrates only to infinity, having no actual finite components. It projects the mind to this source of knowledge and ecstasy. The second part, Guru Ram Das Guroo is a sirgun mantra (sirgun means with form). It therefore projects the mind to Infinity and then gives a finite guiding relationship on a practical level. This mantra was given to Yogi Bhajan by Guru Ram Das in his astral Self.

This is in praise of the consciousness of Guru Ram Das, invoking his spiritual light, guidance, and protective grace. We are filled with humility.
